New Member Involvement Opportunities
We are always happy when new members join. It can take some time to get into a class, get cleared and start contributing as a firefighter or EMT. We want you to know about all the things that EVFD does which are vital in making our department great. Many of these activities you can participate in as soon as you have completed your physical.

Duty Crews & Observer Program
Once you have been cleared for duty, you can join our Observer program. While on the Observer program, you can ride with our crews and watch what they do to gain insight into what you will do once you are trained and cleared. There are two Observer programs, one for Fire and one for EMS. You must on the Fire Observer program to ride on a Fire/Rescue Apparatus and on the EMS Observer program to ride the ambulance.
